Getting Ready for Your Next Exhibition – What You Need to Know
Posted on 7th January 2020 at 17:24
Exhibitions are a big calendar event of the year for most businesses whether through hiring a space as a delegate or attending to meet delegates. They provide good opportunities to network away from traditional networking events, to meet people from further afield and to perhaps meet people in industries you wouldn’t usually meet.
With that in mind, it’s so important to be prepared for your next exhibition which might just be a few months away. Take a look at our advice on preparing for your next exhibition whether it is your first or your hundredth.
Not just a few business cards!
Put a number in your head of how many you think you need now add some more to that number and then a few more on top. When attendees come to your stand and talk to you briefly or for a longer chat you want to give them something to take away. If you don’t pass them your business card you can’t expect them to remember you amongst the tens of or even hundred of businesses showcasing that day. The simple act of handing over your business card gives them your name and contact details to remember you by when they return home later or the next day.
Bonus tip – leave a space on your card (on the back is okay) for them to write down a keyword related to what you spoke about. It doesn’t have to be a huge amount of space, just enough for 1 or 2 words.
Professional banners to make you stand out
A roller banner is a great component of showing that your business is professional and can handle their business to the highest quality. Roller banners have a lot of space but remember to place your important information at eye level so they can quickly find it and decide to stop and talk some more to you. Roller banners are great for getting information out to your prospective clients whilst about who you are, what you do and why they need you or your product. Remember the final 50mm at the bottom is the bleed area as it most likely will be in the roller case that it comes in. Choose fonts, colours and designs carefully to really make the most of the space you have. If you would like a roller banner but struggling with the design let us do the hard work for you with our in-house experienced designers.
Flyers for customers to take away with them
Business cards are good at reminding people of your name and your contact details but to give more information to those interested in contacting you at a later date flyers really come into their own. Use both the front and back of the flyer to communicate with your prospective clients. Choose informative content, if a sentence doesn’t add anything delete it. Think carefully about your design and through good use of font and colour make your design eye-catching.
Bonus tip - If everyone else is ordering A5 flyers how will you stand out in a pile of flyers in the attendees’ hands? A quick and easy way to do this is to have a different sized flyer. Flyers are usually ordered in A5 size, which basically means half of A4 but consider designing a flyer that is a different size e.g. Letter, DL, or A6.
